I’m Stacy, Founder and Lead Designer at Hummingbird Fine Floral. 

That sweet man beside me is my husband, Michael, my rock and the absolute love of my life...more to come about him in a second because, you know, when you select the people to help make your wedding dreams come true, it’s really important that you know a little about them, what motivates them, turns their heart strings, will help them to connect with you…. Here’s a little about me….a little about us. 
I’m a trained fine art florist, who pinches myself daily when I realize I am living my dream. I walked away from a 20+ year corporate career to live in my passion, in the world of flowers, and I couldn’t be happier. This is how it all began…..

In 2011, I received a text message from my sister that changed my life forever. We had weathered losing our Dad in the months prior and both our hearts were heavy with all that had transpired.  When the "ping" got my attention, I anticipated something in that vein or a question about our Mom, you, know... grown-up "Sister Stuff".  To my happy surprise, her text was something altogether different. 

In a quick note she shared that my “college sweetheart”, who I literally had not spoken to for some 25 years, had reached out to her in an effort to find me. She remembered him fondly, his great smile and warm laugh, and so she passed on his interest in reaching me. I was dumbstruck. Did I say, it had literally been 25 years since we had spoken, and a lot of life had happened in that timeframe. Life experiences had changed me, and I was sure him, and yet, I knew if he was reaching out to me, that it was meaningful and I had to hear his voice.

In our very first conversation, we laughed and shared how funny it was to hear each other’s “grown-up voice”. So funny and sweet and genuine. Not to over simplify, but, I think we both just “knew”, even in that very first conversation that a circle was closing for us, and it was going to lead to forever. And it did. All the circumstances that had taken our lives in different directions, that led to all those years apart, that had given us the gifts of our amazing children and left us each single in our mid-forties just fell away, and we found ourselves together, in love and seriously happy. For the first time, we both felt complete. Our lives bloomed. Everything around us got brighter and more joyful. Our now almost fully adult children, fell equally in “happy” with us and each other and together we dove into this bright new life and thrived.

I think that is when Hummingbird first began to breathe, because for the first time, I began to flourish, in the love and support of true connection, and my creative mind was opened to what could be.

So, here we are, 10 wonderful years into marriage and family, and welcoming a new grandbaby this last year! What a blessing our lives have become! Hummingbird was born from the sheer joy of that true love! Our premise is completely based on that happiness. Creating joy, and the sheer awe of beauty; sharing that with people in ways that before were not possible. My love of design, color, all things flowers, and the art of creating fine yet boldly scaled beauty has taken on a life of its own in Hummingbird. Our business of exquisite floral rentals for weddings and events is a tangible way for us to share our story, the power of true love and the celebration of new beginnings….no matter where you find yourself in life.
